August is a creative and carefully curated lifestyle brand made with, by, and for, anyone who menstruates. Powerful in the way we talk about periods. Powerful in our impact. Powerful. Period.
We recognize that our goals to change the culture around periods cannot be done in a day, and our promise to you is that we will continue to learn and grow together, and never stray away from our mission:
To eliminate period stigma and democratize access to period care.
My role has evolved from advisor & investor to Head of Creative. Responsible for strategic planning, creative direction, brand identity, communications, and launch strategy.
I crafted marketing & communication plans, built and designed the brand’s creative direction, developed the tone of voice, designed the brand book, packaging, the merch, and developed the social & content strategy as well as helped build the team that is making waves today.
Designing and launching the website for August we wanted to feature a platform that would help educate and normalize periods with real medical experts and of course a Gen Z voice. AskAugust came to life with over 100 questions and answers to start with. Users now have the opportunity to ask a question and have it posted to the database. With a dedicated content team, we took it even further and started a blog - The Flow. Tracking experiences, journies, and insight from our team.
Working together with a collective of creatives and collaborating with other brands who are making their mark - like Safely, Glory, and other nonprofit startups.
